What do I do in this posture?

Open or closed hips? What my teacher means?

There is no cue that will get you in the "perfect posture" as there is no perfect posture!

During practice you will hear suggestions/cues where to direct your energy. If you look at Asanas as their own special entities, you realise you can make the postures your own. Through awareness we learn about our bodies and our unique anatomy the more we practice. We learn how to adjust our own bodies just listening to our teacher's guidance.

"Squaring hips" are not about having a perfectly parallel pelvis to the front of the mat, it is about directing our inner thighs to scissor towards each other.

Before this gets too long, watch the video and tell me what do you think? I will teach you a little snippet on how to practice standing postures focusing on our pelvis.

Remember to take cueing with a pinch of salt. Your hips are not a box, they won't be perfectly square.
